The Citadel’s Leadership Podcast

The Krause Center for Leadership and Ethics, in support of The Citadel Vision, is the college organization focused on enhancing leadership development and ethical growth at The Citadel. Originally funded by a generous endowment from Bill Krause (Citadel Class of 1963) and his wife, Gay, the Krause Center is a multifaceted office that serves as a resource for institutional and regional outreach activities while promoting leadership and ethics on campus.

Established initially as a college-wide initiative in July of 2003, the Krause Center has continued to grow in its efforts to strengthen The Citadel’s programs and activities to prepare graduates to become principled leaders. Supporting The Citadel’s core values, the Krause Center promotes the ethical growth and leadership development of students while serving as a model for peer institutions.

For the past several years, the Krause Center has been successful in establishing and reshaping a number of activities, training processes, and integration efforts across the campus to support the leader development and ethical growth of the Corps. The first Principled Leadership Symposium was held in 2008. It has become a signature event for the Krause Center.

The Principled Leadership Symposium hosts approximately 70 college student delegates from regional institutions of higher learning, senior military colleges, and the federal service academies. Participants are exposed to “The Citadel Experience” while interacting with many top cadets on campus. The goal of the symposium is to explore principled leadership across a range of vocations and professional organizations. Participants hear world-class speakers, engage in focused roundtable sessions, and attend diverse forums where prominent leaders from military, sports, academic, political, corporate, and other arenas share their experiences.
